The National Open Shooting Dog Championship will begin on Monday, February 3, 2025. The stake will be drawn on Thursday January 30, 2025.

Judges:

Johnathan Burch, Holly Springs Mississippi

Mike Jackson, Battle Ground, Indiana

Kevin Stuart, Schenectady, New York

Reporter Elton Bray, Holly Springs, Mississippi

There are four braces run each day; two in the morning and two in the afternoon. Each brace is ninety minutes long. This schedule is adhered to, as much as possible, in order to allow handlers and owners to be better informed as to when their dog will run.

Dogs may be ordered by the judges at any time. No bitches in season will be carried on the dog wagon. The bye dog will be given 24 hours notice before being asked to run, unless handler elects otherwise.

A panel of three judges names a champion. No runner-up is named.

The National Open Shooting Dog Champion prizes include:

  • $25,000 purse to the winning Handler

  • Oil painting of the Champion by Ross Young presented to the winning owner
